For the past 3 weeks or maybe a little earlier, the cough/phlegm bug has been the unwelcomed guest.
It all started with the maid, or Vic, from a harmless mild cough that developed into a nagging phlegmy cough, that resulted in Vic having to visit the clinic a few times to take her ventolin via nebuliser. She had been wheezing and when her phlegm turned greenish, the paed suggested that she start on antibiotics. We told the paed that we preferred not to, as she has candida and that will further weaken her immune.
So she went on 5 rounds of nebuliser.
At home, hubby and I caught the cough/phlegm bug as well, no sorethroat no flu but very bad cough. The maid eventually got better, and Praise God William stayed strong during this duration when all 4 of us were coughing away. But just yesterday his nose started to run a little - and I gave him anti-histamine immediately.
My fridge is ever filled with a medley of medicine, for adults and kids. From anti-histamine (sedative and non-sedative) to different types of cough syrups, paracetamol, adult medicines - anti-histamines, cough syrups, sorethroats, antibiotics, painkillers and diarhrea.

Weather no good these days....thank god everyone looks fine now
Your fridge is like a mini pharmacy, eh? Hehe... The same unwelcomed bug barged into my home too. Chloe caught it last week and now, my nose and throat are starting to feel a little itchy already :((((
hope all of you have recovered now.. too much durians? I have a mini pharmacy in my fridge too, i keep the medicine my doc gives, just in case...
HOpe all is well now...
It's the same over here. I thought we could pass this winter without any flu bugs, but Ashleigh caught the bug and one by one we went down except hubby who remains resilient to it. Hope everyone recovers soon. Does Victoria have asthma?
The coughing bug...sometimes really lingers on really long, hor??? Not so straightforward. U know la, chinese say got 'yit' kat and so forth.Like sore throat or runny nose...very fast will get ok in a few days with fluids and meds.
Sometimes, we would exhaust all d diff types of western medications for cough...in a few weeks...then, only d coughing bug goes away. But for Ryan, I realised he needs antibiotics for d cough to get well. But unfortunately, we can't be dependant on them right?
When I saw the title of the post, I was expecting to see food. aiyo, mini pharmacy pulak!
Hope everyone gets well and stays well.
Hello Irene, how you doin'?
Regret read you and hubby having that bad cough. Must be a bug infection.
Anyway, if you have not already....go buy this Chinese herbal tea, 'Hor Yan hor'.....it is made in Perak, not expensive.
Drink one hot cup morning, one afternoon or night.
It will help....good for fevers, flu too.
A lot of my Malay readers now have taken it and they said it really helped, so they now keep this at home.
Wishing you early recovery, best regards.
Lee.
Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for you care and concern. Yea, looks like no durian this season, sob sob, and have emptied more than 5 bottles of cough syrup and anti histamines between the 4 of us. : (
@Uncle Lee, thank you for the tip.. I got Ho Yan Hor here, so will start drinking a cup tonight, and one for hubby too.
You all take care too.
Wow...that is alot of meds. Hope everyone gets well soon and you can throw all the meds out!
