Please sleep, darlings

The past three days since their holiday in Ipoh, my kids have not been very cooperative when it comes to their sleeping time. Victoria has been sleeping around 130am almost everynight waking up at 11am the next morning, and having trouble taking her afternoon naps while William has gotten used to just taking a 1 hour power nap in the morning and in the afternoon each, then play till plus minus 9pm. And mind you, when he's over tired, that does not necessary mean that he sleeps better.

After two days of such overzealous energy from the kids, I'm beat. Yesterday I brought Victoria for her medical check up, with baby and maid in tow. The doctor gave her a clean bill of health, with another week's does of daily singulair to strengthen her lungs. Then we went for lunch at Bangsar.

Back at home in the afternoon, I'd expect them to be a little more tired than a usual day at home, after having gone out. But oh no, William took about an hour nap, then he was up again, active and playful as ever. As for Victoria, she only slept about 5pm after much coaxing(her normal nap time is between 3pm and 4pm).

I didn't sleep coz I had to keep William entertained, and periodically trying to "oi oi" him back to slumberland. The maid had a lot to clean up after I spotted leftover sticking to my non stick pan so I left her to her work.

At night, William knocked off around 9pm. Victoria was very understanding. Many times, though I've not written all about it, she has taken the backseat when it comes to putting William to sleep. (The other one of us will keep Victoria occupied first, but sometimes she'll have to just hang around or find things to do herself. Of course I feel bad lar, and wish we can give both kids 100% undivided attention, but that is impossible.)

He woke a few times after dozing off at 9pm. I dropped off to sleep nearing 12 midnight I think, while Victoria played with Daddy. Suddenly I heard Victoria calling me, but I couldn't open my eyes. Too tired la. Then she start to call me louder. I managed to squint my eyes open, and she placed this... in front of me, saying, "Mummy... see!"

That's soooo sweet, darling. This morning I asked hubby if he did that with her, and asked her to give it to me. He said no, he was busy rushing his assignment and she was drawing by herself.

: ) Appreciation from my little girl.

Midvalley

On Sunday night, Daddy was catching up with his work after the long holiday. Victoria asked Daddy if she can go to Ikano for her fix of "jump jump". Daddy said he has to call his boss and ask him first.

The next morning, the little princess woke up nearing 12noon, and the first thing she asked was, "Daddy, have you called your boss to ask whether you can bring me go Ikano?"

Aiyoo... that really touched our hearts. Despite the doctor's advice that Victoria should avoid crowded places (she had flu and pneumonia two weeks back), and that Victoria has just recently recovered, we didn't want to keep her bored in the house the whole day. Afterall, it's Daddy's last holi-day with us, so we decided to bring her to Midvalley's MegaKidz instead, where it's more hygienic and less crowded, we hope, but 3 times pricier lar!

So this is a solemn Victoria (dunno why, she wouldn't tell) and a very excited baby!

And after I took this "fierce" picture of her, she tried to attack the camera. OK, no more. Her mood immediately changed when we entered the shopping mall carpark.

And I couldn't resist this shot... hehe, Victoria's bum looking at all the Christmas decors below!

Holiday in Ipoh for Uncle Morgan's wedding

Last Thursday we travelled back to Ipoh for a short 4days holiday, and to attend Uncle Morgan's wedding on Saturday. Victoria was really excited. So was William. In the car, we convinced Victoria to close her eyes and take a short nap so she needn't have to in the afternoon. But William was sooooo excited, he only slept after Simpang Pulai.

We had a great time meeting up with all the relatives who travelled back a couple of days later to attend the same wedding. Victoria was very close to Aunty Maria, and enjoyed all the hoo-haa and company, and this...

... Tai Gong's 30 over year old tortoise.

She shot this pic of me with Heh Heh. Good framing, girl!

William was carried by all his cousin sisters Sarah, Michelle, Esther and most of his Yee Pohs and Kam Pohs and I think he just likes it! All these girls... yummy! And here's this one rare shot of him with Uncle Jun Yuan.

One with Aunty Maria carrying cousin sister Grace (hey, dun pull my ear!) and Mummy.

This is with Aunty Michelle and Uncle Jun Yuan, and Uncle Jun Yu.

On Sunday, we left Ipoh after lunch, dropping by Sitiawan to visit Ah Chor. This is the first time Ah Chor sees William. On the way back, this is Victoria restless in the car...

... and William...

MBA notes

The other night as we were hanging around in the living room upstairs, Victoria was sitted at Daddy's work table, and I on the floor playing with William.

She was saying something about doing her "work", which I just thought it's the usual, either some typing on the PC or scribbling on the rough papers. Then it suddenly dawned upon me to check on what exactly is she doing.

Here's it.

Yikes! It's one of Daddy's MBA notes! I quickly took it from her, and checked the "damage."

Phew, thank God it's not something worse, just a cute picture of a.... creature. But that's beautiful art. It's Victoria's own drawing, and I'm sure Daddy didn't mind.

He didn't. We found it amusing.

Some pictures taken over the weekend

Conversations with Victoria

Yesterday I found a sticker on my pants. Who else, but Victoria put it there without my knowledge. She loves stickers, all kinds of stickers, just like any other little girls. And sometimes we reward her with sheets of stickers, or just buy for her for fun. She'd happily peel them off, and have placed them at many places, sometimes awkward, sometimes prominent... for example, on Popo's washing machine, on the walls (low heights), on the car windows, on the cupboard door beneath the staircase, and this...

... on my trousers, which I didn't even know until I happen to just "saw" it on my way out to Giant yesterday.

I think that's my reward for "good behaviour" hehe :)

Here are two snippets of conversation with Victoria:

Conversation 1
I placed the Hello Kitty sticker on the car steering wheel. Hubby drove the car last night and saw it. He made a joke that he'd have to hide the sticker if his boss sits in his car. And I added that Daddy's boss will think he's girlish.

A short while later, she said, "Daddy! You must cover the sticker! If not, your boss will think you are a girl!"

Conversation 2
During dinner time today, I had to keep telling Victoria to sit down and eat her food. Of course there are good days where she'd finish her food obediently with little running around, and there are... challenging days where she'd be all over the place, and take 10 minutes just to chew and swallow a spoonful. Today was one of those. So, after repeated reminders, you bet I'm not a very happy mummy.

I told her off sternly that if she doesn't make an effort to sit down and finish her food, Mr Rotan is coming out. So that got her to sit down. (She's not scared though).

Shortly later, as I was clearing up some plates, she asked me if I was angry at her. I said, "No, why?"

Victoria replied, "Then why is your face so black?"

Haha. I burst out half laughing, half giggling.

And this little girl said this to me, "You look really cute when you laugh."

Hhhmm... thanks. : )

Mummy, I want angkoo for breakfast

It's been sometime since we last had angkoos.

Last night Victoria told me that she wants angkoo for her breakfast this morning. It was nearing midnight, and no where would I be able to buy angkoo at that time, and I wasn't sure if I can get the angkoos in the morning. So, I said, "We don't have angkoo at home, Victoria."

"OK, if we don't have angkoo, then I want ubi."

That's a nice compromise, coz we DO have ubi at home.

But this morning hubby told me that someone left some food stuff in our garden. I opened it, and saw a container of meehoon, some chili sauce, and.... a container of six angkoos inside! What a coincidence! The maid didn't know who left it there. I suspected Aunty Wai Weng who stayed two doors away.

So I called her handphone to thank her. No answer. Then I called the house phone. she told me immediately that her friend's sister accidentally dropped it in our house. Anyway, to cut the long story short, she offered us some of the angkoos in the packet. I returned the rest to her.

I think these angkoos are God-sent, nonetheless.

Victoria woke up later, and her wish is fulfilled. : )
